Youth With a Mission Discipleship Training School- JEM Ponts de Vie

Life Around the Table Discipleship Training School (DTS)

We will be leading a Discipleship Training School with YWAM in France. The school will begin in April 2021 and centre around equipping international students with a discipleship model that works for missions. Our school will be specialized in teaching hospitality as a form of outreach.

We know you have questions. Here’s a shot at answering them below.

What is Youth With a Mission (YWAM)?

Youth With a Mission or YWAM (pronounced “WHY-wham”) is a Christian missionary and outreach group. It was founded by American missionary Loren Cunningham and his wife Darlene Cunningham in 1960. YWAM's stated purpose is to "know God and to make Him known". YWAM has over 15,000 full-time 'volunteers' in more than 1,100 ministry locations in over 180 countries. They train upwards of 25,000 short-term missionaries annually.

What is a DTS (Discipleship Training School)?

A DTS is built into two parts, a lecture phase and an outreach phase.  During the lecture phase, students will focus on learning who God is and growing their relationship with Christ.  During the outreach phase, students will live out and share the gospel by making God known through local and international missions.

A DTS helps people to understand their true identity in Christ and to discover their calling, passions, and God’s purpose for their life.

Unique History of St. Hippolyte

Saint Hippolyte du Fort is a very unique town with a very unique history of faithfulness, compassion, determination, tenacity, boldness, and fearlessness. Just after the Protestant Reformation the city quickly became 98% Protestant becoming a haven for persecuted Huguenots within France. Over the centuries they hid and protected the Jews. They inspired and encouraged peaceful resistance in the face of persecution. And they refused to flee, back down or deny their faith when confronted with a martyr's death.

In both cases - Louis XIV’s dragoons in the 17th century and the SS Nazis in the 20th, the Château de Planque became the headquarters for the invading forces.
